REGISTERED NURSE CASE MANAGER
Classification: Per Diem - On Call
Essential Functions:
- Utilizes previous or current clinical nursing and healthcare related knowledge and skills to communicate important aspects of disability and injury related health data to organizational stakeholders and employees.
- Assesses the needs of individuals and organizational needs, including assessment of individuals' work environments, to identify potential health or safety problems
- Utilizes clinical experience and skills in a collaborative process to assess, plan, implement, coordinate, monitor and evaluate health care related items in disability management program proposals or plans to facilitate appropriate healthcare services/benefits
- Compiles, processes and interprets employer disability and injury data, including occupational injury reporting, injury outcomes data, and healthcare benefit support systems data, to make recommendations regarding disability management program revision or implementation
- Communicates effectively with employers, clients, employees of organizations, third-party stakeholder, and DMHR staff to facilitate WPDM program assessment, revision, and or implementation
- Identifies opportunities to promote quality effectiveness of healthcare services and benefit utilization directly impacting workplace disability management, and
- Consults and lends clinical healthcare and utilization review expertise to other internal and external constituents in the coordination and administration of the utilization of workplace disability management functions
- Effectively engage in group work to develop comprehensive assessments and reports
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of the basic principles and practices of research and analysis.
- Ability to analyze, synthesize, and evaluate a variety of data for use in program development.
- Ability to organize, evaluate, and present information effectively.
- Ability to learn and utilize computer processes.
- Ability to demonstrate and explain past experience delivering exemplary customer service for both internal and external customers
- Ability to communicate information and ideas orally and in writing so others will understand
Required Qualifications
- 10 years of combined clinical nursing, nurse case management, and utilization review experience
- Registered Nurse (RN) with current unrestricted state licensure
Preferred Qualifications
- Managed Care experience
- Certified Disability Management Specialist credential
- Previous consulting experience
Education
- Master's degree in nursing or closely related field, or equivalent experience
